In north of Scotland, the world’s shortest commercial takes place between two Orkney Islands, Westray and Papa Westray having a distance of only 1.7 miles between them. The flight duration has been recorded to be of two minutes conducted by Logan air, but it can be accomplished in merely 47 seconds if carried out under ideal wind conditions.

Nearly 30 percent of passengers work at Orkney Islands Council’s education service, whereas others are health staff and patients of the Scottish National Health Service. These days, around 70 people are living at the island of Papa Westray and about 60 archaeological sites are also situated here.

Each week in summers for a couple of days, a special flight is flown for people who would just like to fly around the Island and return back to the Orkney Continental rather than staying behind on the islands.
